"Sailing Together for Success: Cross-Border E-Commerce Strategies for Global Expansion" Seminar Successfully Held in Shenzhen!

On the afternoon of July 24, 2024, the special seminar titled "Sailing Together for Success: Cross-Border E-Commerce Strategies for Global Expansion" was successfully held, organized and hosted by the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association(SZCBEA), Borsam Intellectual Property and the fast fashion retailer brand SHEIN.


This seminar invited experienced speakers from the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, Borsam Intellectual Property, and the SHEIN platform to share key insights on intellectual property in cross-border e-commerce. The event aimed to help Shenzhen enterprises expand their products internationally, enhance their ability to compete in overseas markets through effective IP management, and establish a competitive edge for their brands abroad. The seminar attracted over 30 participants, including executives and IP managers from companies involved in international and cross-border e-commerce based in Shenzhen.

The event was honored to have Mr. Zhang Chao, Secretary-General of the Legal Department of the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, as the opening guest speaker. He provided a concise analysis of the future trends in cross-border e-commerce and introduced strategies to reduce the costs of IP protection for companies expanding overseas.

Mr. Steven LIN, a partner and patent attorney at Borsam Intellectual Property, briefed the participants on the potential risks and opportunities that IP can bring to cross-border e-commerce. He presented data on IP litigation in the sector and analyzed common types of IP infringement and case studies, offering comprehensive strategies and recommendations for cross-border IP planning.

Ms. Wang Fang, patent attorney at Borsam Intellectual Property, shared strategies for dealing with patent infringement risks in cross-border e-commerce. She provided in-depth advice on methods for determining infringement, responding to IP infringement complaints and lawsuits, and identifying and avoiding infringement risks.

Mr. Liu Jiafeng, in charge of merchant management at SHEIN, introduced the platform's semi-managed merchant recruitment policy, as well as key categories for support and best-selling products.

Lastly, Mr. Zhu Zekai, Risk Control Director of the Financial Department at the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, gave a brief analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of existing financing options for cross-border e-commerce. He highlighted key areas of concern for investors before providing funds and offered detailed financing suggestions for the participating companies.
