A number of trademark information of "Yao Anna", "Yao Siwei", "YAO ANNA", "YAO SIWEI", and "Annalbel Yao" was added, which was applied by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.. The classification involves machinery equipment, beer and beverage, clothing, shoes, hats, etc. It shows that the application date is January 25, 2021, and the current trademark status is displayed as "trademark application in progress". The international classification of trademarks involves education, entertainment, mechanical equipment, scientific instruments, etc.

Yao Anna is Ren Zhengfei's daughter and graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and Statistics. On January 10, 2021, Yao Anna signed a contract with Tianhao Shengshi. On January 14, Yao Anna officially announced the news of her debut on her Weibo. On January 18, Yao released her first single song "Back Fire".

On February 3, according to Weibo @Tech Planet, Ren Zhengfei apologized in Huawei's internal community for the registration of the Yao Anna trademark.

Ren explained regarding the company's trademark registration of Yao Anna:

1. Yao Siwei is the daughter of Ren Zhengfei, and Yao Anna is her stage name.

2. There are companies or individuals maliciously register Yao Anna's trademark. In this way, we did it as a last resort. If we do not register, the trademark will be continuously registered maliciously, and there will be many disadvantages. According to the Chinese Trademark Law provisions, citizens of mainland China must use a company's name or hold an individual business license to apply for trademark registration. Yao Anna has just graduated and has not registered her company. Therefore, Mr Ren entrusted the Intellectual Property Department to register as an agent and will transfer it to Yao Anna's studio in the future, and she will bear the cost.

3. Ren apologized to all of the employees for the first time of private use of public power.
